Hello!

My name is Nicolette and I have been toying with the idea of starting a blog for YEARS. I just couldn't bring myself to actually commit to it.

Those of you that know me personally know that I am an actor by trade. Acting and performance is, by all means, my passion, but I have a love for beauty/fashion that I have not been able to express previously beyond how I style myself in my day to day life. I have also always loved writing, and I find that I have had significantly fewer opportunities to do so as of late.

Having just graduated from college a year ago, I've honestly been pretty lost. I miss the structure. I miss someone giving me parameters to live within. I miss completing assignments and feeling a level of accomplishment. I miss receiving regular feedback on my work. The world outside of school is kind of overwhelming, to say the least. There are TOO MANY OPTIONS and yet, being as inexperienced as a 22-year-old typically is, many of those options seem barred to people in my position.

If I learned anything by going to theatre school, it is that you need to be a self-starter. Creating opportunities for yourself is truly how so many of the greats became...great. So, I did my fair share of post-grad angsting, wallowing, pleading. I am ready to create my own opportunity. So here it is world! A real, live blog.

P.S.

If anyone is curious as to why I chose the name, it is a actually a Harry Potter quote. I have always adored comedy, and for as long as I can remember, when I found a line in a movie or TV show to be funny, I would repeat it (which made me an annoying child but it was probably the best training I didn't realize I was getting). The particular line that has become the namesake of this blog is found in the very first movie. Professor Quirrell comes screaming into the Great Hall alerting everyone of the troll that is loose in the dungeon and just before he passes out he mutters "thought-you-ought-to-know." So there you have it. Here's what I thought you ought to know.
